Do you suffer from back pain? Do you have trouble walking, getting up or performing any kind of movement? This issue might eventually restrict you in your job. It is back pain, that is the most common reason of work disability.
Warning:Do not use this or any other article on the internet to diagnose yourself. Only physicians can correctly diagnose patients. Do not postpone seeing your physician to resolve your health issues in time.
The spine consists of cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral and coccygeal vertebrae. Each of these segments can be affected by pain. It can even be just specific vertebrae which are affected.
60 to 80% of the world population experiences lower back pain. In 65% of those affected, it is a recidivate or long-term condition.
There is a wide range of causes. Oftentimes, they are serious and mobility-endangering conditions.
The most common cause of pain is an inappropriate way of performing everyday tasks.
Pain is also often caused by:
weakening of back and abdominal muscles,
jobs involving lifting heavy weights,
insufficient or excess activity
chilling of the back,
degenerative changes to the spine,
Spinal pain can, however, be also caused by sudden herniation of a disc, diseases of some internal organs or by increased strain due to pregnancy.
Acute back pain can last from several days to several weeks. Acute pain leads to restricted mobility.
Chronic back pain last several months or recidivates several times a year and is localized to a certain area of the spine. Chronic pain is often accompanied by headache, or possibly by issues with sensitivity and a tingling sensation in limbs.
Spinal Pain Treatment – Rid yourself of the Pain
Spinal pain treatment depends on the cause. Based on examination of spinal mobility, blood tests inquiring into inflammatory processes and imaging methods examinations, the most suitable treatment is recommended.
Relief from acute pain is brought bynon-steroid anti-rheumatics (cyklooxygenase inhibitors, non-specific anti-inflammatory drugs – Ibuprofen, Diclofenac and others) are usually administered in order to soothe pain and mitigate inflammation. These drugs have fewer side-effects than corticosteroids, while supressing pain, fevers and inflammation.
Both groups require a physician’s oversight as they cause side-effects.
Muscle relaxants – medicaments inducing relaxation in stripped muscles.
Non-steroid anti-rheumatics – non-steroid medicament with analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect.
Acute – sudden and urgent condition with intensive symptoms.
Chronic – condition with gradual and long-term development.
The ideal prevention involves not putting excess strain on the back, and regular exercise. A rehabilitation doctor or physiotherapist will recommend the most suitable custom exercises.
Within the rehabilitation treatment low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy has its place in treating some symptoms of spinal pain as it utilises the analgesic, anti-swelling and healing effects with the support of anti-inflammatory effect. It improves mobility of affected joints and brings general relief.
Home applications are a huge convenience which allows the patient to continue intensive rehabilitation at home, out of hospital facilities.
The ability to start treatment early in a new flare-up of the disease is yet another benefit.
Patented 3D Biomag pulsed therapy. How does it work?
The basic principle of 3D Biomag magnetic therapy is generating electromagnetic pulses. The generated pulses can penetrate through layers of clothing and even body tissues to the place of application. These pulses have specially developed biotropic parameters (e.g. frequency, profile, intensity), thanks to which the pulsed magnetotherapy affects various health conditions.
The term pulse magnetic therapy is most commonly used for physiotherapy using the principle of electromagnetic pulses. The abbreviation PEMF is used in order to be concise.
Patented 3D Biomag technology ensures more precise and uninterrupted pulse profiles, enhances output, and allows pulses to come from various angles.
Pulsed magnetic therapy is not meant to treat spinal pain itself. Such treatment can only be recommended by a physician. Magnetic therapy application is used on symptoms of spinal pain such as pain, swelling and inflammation.
Carefully read the user guide provided by the producer and consult a physician about your health before using any medical device.
Biomag® Lumina 3D-e is an active therapeutic device – a medical device for individual use or in combination with other medical treatment and devices as a supplemental therapy within a comprehensive treatment plan.
The goal of Biomag® low frequency pulsed magnetic field therapy is to utilise its biological effects on tissue in a way that helps mitigate some symptoms. These symptoms are primarily pain, swelling, spasms, and changes in microcirculation. It also promotes healing and mitigates those symptoms that can be influenced by these effects.
Physiological changes in tissue after application of Biomag® magnetic therapy occur due to pain mitigation and vasodilation of capillaries and precapillaries, which leads to the following treatment effects:
pain-relieving – analgesic, reduces pain
healing – promoting regeneration, anti-inflammatory
and anti-rheumatic effects
vasodilating – improves microcirculation in particular
metabolic-detoxifying – accelerates the elimination
of toxins and metabolites
Intended for use on intact skin through a protective layer, e.g., disposable or other sanitary pads.
When using the Biomag® Lumina 3D-e device it is necessary to follow the Principles of safety operation together with Contraindications/Indications and use it in compliance with the specified environmental requirements. Basic safety information is shown on the device display as well.
Devices and applicators of Biomag pulsed magnetic therapy are not to be used with any of the following contraindications. Not respecting these contraindications can lead to damaged health of the patient and the device operator!
If unsure whether you understand the following list of contraindications and guidelines of safe operation of the device, use these contacts. You may prevent possible issues.
Mycosis in the application area
Adrenal gland hyperfunction
Disorders of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland
Pain of unknown origin
Contradiction to treatment recommended by a physician
If you own the AL16-LUMpolarised light applicator, further contraindications are:
Shining directly in one’s eyes (applicable in case of applying polarised light)
With metabolic disorders, where skin becomes photosensitive and while using photostimulating substances (applicable in case of applying polarised light)
Side effects: While applying treatment, special caution should be paid to patients with hypertension and hypotension (or with predisposition to it). Individual effects and using magnetic therapy need to be judged upon particular conditions and reactions of individual patients.
In case of unexpected reaction, immediately cease application! Proceeding with application is recommended only after seeing your attending physician based on the recommended course of action.
This list of contraindications is only general. Always heed list of contraindications in the updated version of the original guide. This guide was provided to you by the producer along with your device.
