The skin in the area tends to be warmer to the touch, and if the inflammation lasts a long time, it leads to damage to the cartilage and bone, so that there is destruction to the bone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In most severe cases, layers of the articular surface disappear. That leads to&nbsp;<strong>deformities of the joint &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong>such as when fingers turn towards the little-finger-side of the hand. Osteophytes also might grow on the finger joints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is a disorder of the autoimmune system.<\/strong>&nbsp;The disease restricts the patient in performing everyday activities and can lead to permanent disability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The risk factors for development of rheumatoid arthritis are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Excess weight and obesity,<\/li><li>injuries,<\/li><li>excess strain on the joints by inappropriate and repeated movement.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hand and Wrist Joint Inflammation Treatment \u2013 Rid yourself of the Pain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Treatment of infectious inflammation&nbsp;<\/strong>of hand or wrist joints is managed by<strong>&nbsp;administering drugs&nbsp;<\/strong>for eliminating the specific determined agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis<\/strong>&nbsp;is based on&nbsp;<strong>reducing pain and decelerating progression of the disease.&nbsp;<\/strong>Disease Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs (DMARDs), non-steroid anti-rheumatics and corticosteroids are administered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Support treatment may consist of ultrasound therapy, laser, polarised light, galvanisation or thermotherapy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjustments to patient\u2019s environment and lifestyle are therapeutically important.
